Circular Australia confirmed that its Managing Director and CEO, Lisa McLean, has been appointed to the federal government’s new Circular Economy Ministerial Advisory Group (CEMAG). The group, led by Professor John Thwaites AM, will advise the government on the challenges and opportunities of transitioning to a circular economy by 2030, spanning business, research, and policy sectors. Lisa stated that Circular Australia is ready to contribute expert input on designing out waste, carbon, and pollution—core principles shared by businesses, communities, and governments seeking the shift to a circular economy.
Inclusion in this advisory panel underscores Australia’s growing commitment to systems-level reform. Environment Ministers have already pledged to collaborate with the private sector to implement circular models, keeping materials in use, designing out waste and pollution, and cultivating markets that support sustainability.
