Industry Connect & the Circular Economy at Moree 6 September
Jointly hosted by the Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre (AMGC) in collaboration with UNE Smart Region Incubator, Regional Development Australia, NSW Government, Industry Capability Network and supported by NSW Circular, this event will introduce the circular economy to industry, business and government stakeholders in Moree.
The event will introduce the audience to the benefits of a circular economy locally, across NSW and the rest of Australia as society aims to be more sustainable. Panelists will share examples of their innovative work in waste and the re-use of materials and how this has economic and social benefits.
Director for NSW Circular, UNSW Professor Veena Sahajwalla, one of Australia’s leading engineers and Founding Director of the UNSW Centre for Sustainable Materials Research and Technology (SMaRT) Centre, is key note speaker. Known for her time as a judge on ABC TV’s The New Inventors and featuring in the War On Waste, Veena will discuss her experience working with industry to develop new technologies and will talk about the latest opportunities.
Join industry from around the region to discuss emerging trends in business including opportunities for recycling, the circular economy, energy efficiency along with the latest advanced manufacturing news. The event will have a range of industry speakers and feature Australia’s first Manufacturing Academy.
Explore opportunities to connect regional companies with growth potential, together with academic business research, business mentors along with corporate and community partners. Learn more about opportunities for energy efficiency programs. The NSW Government is offering over $16 million in funding to help manufacturing businesses save energy and money.

The event will be attended by local industry and business leaders, government representatives, researchers and local community groups.
NSW Circular and AMGC aim to bring together key stakeholders to accelerate partnerships and opportunities to help build a circular economy which aims to address waste and recycling challenges as well as enhance manufacturing and industry capability.
